BIMOTA

Bimota is an Italian motorcycle manufacturer. The name "Bimota" is made from the first two letters of the names of its three founding fathers: Valerio Bianchi, Giuseppe Morri and Massimo Tamburini.

In 1966, the three partners set up a company in Rimini specializing in heating and air conditioning. It was in 1973 that he created his first motorcycle, the HB1.

Finding the frames of Japanese motorcycles unstable, Tamburini built his own cadr. He adapts it on his Honda CB 750 Personal Four.  A few months later, while running in Misano, a Swiss rider noticed the bike and asked Tamburini if he could make a second one.

This is the creation of "Bimota Meccanica". After bianchi's departure, they decided to put a little heating and air conditioning to turn to the bike. He then created kits and pieces that could be adapted on Japanese motorcycles.

In 1974, Bimota won the Grand Prix with a Yamaha 250 and 350cc YB1.

In the 80s, Bimota worked with the greats: Pileri, Lega, Coulon, Kneubuhler, Cecotto, Mamola, Rougerie, Fernandez, Saul, Lucchinelli. They will even produce an engine but the one will not have the desired result.

Ducati continued to win competitions as in 1887 when he became champion TTF 1 with the injection YB 4 and Virginio Ferrari.

Despite this, the brand will file for bankruptcy in 2001.

However, it will be bought by industrialist Roberto Comini who continues to innovate in the motorcycle industry.
